Our Wire-haired Pointing Griffons

Duke; GCHB Duvalin Jersey Boy CGN FDJ WDJ

Duke was our first Griffon, and our first well bred dog, who we purchased in 2019. He is by AWPGA Hall of fame dog, GCHS Whiskeytown Stonehenge Riding Shotgun JH (AKA Gunner) and out of GCH DuValin Jolie(AKA Jolie). He has achieved many things, from group placing, and earning titles in the conformation ring, to obtaining hunting titles. He is owned and loved by Brittany Evans, and Cody Evans and co-owned and bred by Aline Tremblay and Jean-Christophe Boulingez. Duke is the first male Griffon in Canada to earn his Grand Champion Bronze title, an accomplishment we are very happy to have. Duke ended his 2022 show career as the #4 Wire-haired Pointing Griffon in Canada, #2 Male and #2 Owner Handled. In 2023 he is the #3 Wire-haired Pointing Griffon, #2 Male and #2 Owner-Handled. Though Duke shines in the conformation ring, he is very accomplished in the hunting field as well. He has both his Field Dog Junior and Water Dog Junior titles, and activley hunts every year through Alberta hunting season. Duke has been a dream come true to us, as both a companion and as show and hunting dog. To read more about him visit DuValin Jersey Boy Cover.

Duchess; GCH Duchess du Pimbina NA FDJ

Duchess is our second Griffon, she is bred by Alain Messier. She is owned by Brittany Evans, Cody Evans, and Leeza Friedman Prokopishyn, and Hannah Abegglen. From a young age Duchess has always had a lot of promise. She shined in the show ring taking multiple Best Baby Puppy in Groups as well as a Best Baby Puppy in Show. She achieved her first points towards her championship at just 6 months of age going best of breed over 2 specials. By the time she was 8 months old she obtained her North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) Natural Ability test prize 3. At just over a year old she achieved her Canadian Championship, shortly after she achieved her Field Dog Junior title. Before the age of 2 she achieved her Canadian Grand Championship, being one of the youngest Griffons to get that title. In 2022 Duchess was #2 Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon Puppy, #1 Owner-Handled Female. In 2023 Duchess made a fast friendship with young handler Hannah, who has beautifully presented her in both the Junior Handling ring taking a multiple junior handling placements, as well as going best of breed over professional handlers multiple times in the breed ring. In early 2024 the Team took Reserve Best In Show under judge Mike Jackman, at that point the connection between Hannah and Duchess was undeniable and we added Hannah as an owner. In 2024 Duchess and Hannah have worked hard in the show ring, taking multiple group placements, 2 group 1 placements, and holding their spot as the #2 Wire-haired Pointing Griffon, #1 Female and owner handled, as well as a Top 10 Owner Handled Sporting dog. Duchess loves hunting season and has a lot of drive to be in her favorite spot, the field and the water. For more on Duchess’ adventures click here Duchess Du Pimbina Cover.

Yoko; DuValin Yoko

Yoko was an “unplanned” puppy, but from the moment we saw her picture we knew she had to come home. Yoko is owned by Brittany Evans and Cody Evans and co-owned and bred by Aline Tremblay. Yoko is a young and promising dog. At just 4 months of age, at her first dog show, she took Best Baby Puppy in Specialty at the Wire-haired Pointing Griffion National Specialty, followed by a Best Baby Puppy in Specialty at the Westwind Sporting Dog Club show. Yoko was presented in the ring in 2023 by Brittany Evans. In November 2023, Yoko went best of breed over 2 special Wirehaired Pointing Griffons to obtain her 2 point major in CKC conformation at just 7 months old. She has great desire to hunt. In 2024 she went to Quebec to spend some time with breeder and co-owner Aline Tremblay to do hunt training, by May 2024 she was ready for her NAVHDA Natural Ability test and came home with a Prize 1. She has hunted with us throughout hunting season in 2023 and 2024 and has shown lots of desire to be in the field, finding birds, and well as retrieving right to hand. In 2024 Yoko hit the show ring again going Winners Female and Best Of Winners multiple times to obtain more Championship Points. Though she will run the left hand circles, the field is where her heart is.

Lalo; DuValin Lalo

Lalo came to us in mid 2024 to work on on hunting and showing. He started young in the field working on retrieval work, and getting use to having birds in his mouth. By fall 2024 he was ready to hit the wild game field bringing in ducks and pheasants, though he could still use some work, he is already exceptional in the field. While in Alberta Lalo hit the show ring as well. On his first time out he picked up a Best Baby Puppy in Group followed by a Best baby Puppy in show. The very next day he would come out as a class boy and obtain his first points toward his Canadian Championship at just 6 months old. He continues to shine in the show ring, almost finishing his championship by just 8 months of age. Though Lalo spends time in Alberta, he also spends time with his breeder and co-owner Aline Tremblay in Quebec, working on hunting, showing, and being loved across the country.
